Our take
The DDJ-FLX4 in graphite looks sharp and feels compact. Since it's USB-powered, I can practice anywhere with just my laptop. The 16 pads are velocity-sensitive and great for triggering hot cues and samples. Smart Fader works well for quick auto-transitions, though I sometimes override it for more control. The mic input is a bonus for announcements or MC duties, but it's only a 1/4-inch jack. The build quality is decent but not rugged—the plastic feels a bit creaky if you're heavy-handed. For the price, it's a capable controller that handles the basics well. I just wish the sound quality was a notch higher, but for casual use, it's fine.
