Our take
I picked up the DDJ-RB to get into Rekordbox without breaking the bank, and for the price it's a solid entry point. The 16 pads are responsive and the jog wheels feel decent for the size. Being USB powered means I can spin at a coffee shop without a wall outlet, which is a nice perk. That said, the build is mostly plastic and the tiny faders feel a bit flimsy—I wouldn't gig with it heavily. Effects like filter and delay are fun to play with, but the lack of dedicated controls for each deck can slow you down. If you're bedroom DJing or learning Rekordbox, this does the job, but pros will want something sturdier.
